This has instantly become one of my favorite ramen restaurants in Hiroshima, recommended size and spiciness with extra cha Sui, and goma (sesame) brought it to extra tasty followed by the takikomi-gohan to spill your left over sauce into was a nice way to finish the meal. Will definitely be returning.
MoreMazemen was delicious, place is very cozyAs a great bonus they gave us aprons - we were saved 👍🏽
MoreDry ramen here is a must try! Probably the best dry ramen I have ever eaten. Noodles are well seasoned and cooked. Add a half portion pork to make the meal more satisfying. Would definitely revisit if I'm back in Hiroshima!
MoreA nice break from the broth of ramen.
Very original type of ramen, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I ordered regular size with spice level number 2. It was very tasty and the staff was super friendly as well.
MoreThis was really something else! Simple menu offering their "mazemen" specials that are done spectacularly. Must try.
MoreGreat little restaurant. Fresh dishes prepared in front of you that taste amazing. Ice cold beer too, What's more to want! Friendly staff and atmosphere. Menu available in English. Highly recommend for either lunch or dinner.
MoreAbsolutely delicious! Quick service, friendly staff and reasonably priced. Would visit again!
MoreAmazing brothless yet flavorful noodles, a good break from typical soup noodles such as ramen on my recent vacation here. You can pick your bowl size, hot or cold, and spicy level. The recommended, level 2, is quite spicy already; I went with a 3/4 myself (medium-high tolerance), enough to enjoy the noodles and flavor yet with enough of a burn. The noodles also included negi (Japanese green onions, less strong taste), a soft boiled egg, and one strip of chashu. My dining partner ordered extra chashu and they were quite generous. My extra negi (not pictured) added a nice crunch to the meal, and next time I will try adding cabbage as I saw other Japanese customers do the same. Prices were very fair, 500 for a small and around 750 Yen for a regular size. Extra chashu for 200 yen and extra negi for 100!I plan to return again during my Hiroshima trip!
MoreHonestly enjoyed my meal here more than the kobe beef in Kobe.
Amazing ramen style place, had awesome meal options, with the ability to change the size of the meal and the food was just great. Would go back in a heart beat. After the meL go for there fruit and cream dessert option, really tops off a great meal.
MoreReally delicious for a good price. Staff is super friendly. English menu available for tourists. Try the mazamen noodles.
MoreThe noodles are great and the staff is awesome, very friendly, and humorous. I loved it. Definitely recommend this place to travellers and all others.
MoreDelicious dry ramen, with the egg yolk complimenting the spicy ramen sauce well. You could also choose your level of spiciness. Opted for the small option so that I could try other dishes. After I finish the ramen, I ordered a bowl of Japanese rice and mixed it with the ramen sauce. The warmth of the rice enhance the taste of the leftover sauce significantly. Definitely worth a try. Owner couldn’t speak English well so good chance to practice your Japanese. Will recommend
MoreWent here in other reviews and wasn't disappointed. Awesome little joint, had the large 'brothless' Ramen with added pork at the recommended medium heat, absolutely delicious!! They have an English menu and the staff/chefs are very friendly and welcoming.
MoreThis my friend is a must-try! Don't sleep on it. Really unique dry ramen style with levels of spicyness that you can choose. I love it! Thank me later
MoreVery affordable mazemen. Regular size is only 700 Yens and adding half size of cha-syu (two pieces) only cost 100 Yens. You can choose between warm or cold noodles. I personally like the feeling of cold noodles more but the noodles are a little bit firmer.
MoreVery nice and small place . Owners speaks a little English. Enough to help you with your choice. Menu is in English too. We ordered the mazemen with spice level 7. This was good for us but would not recommend that to people who are not used to spicey food. Also we had so e fried dumplings. Together with 2 beers we paid about 2800 yen which is a fair price here in Japan.
MoreExtremely tasty take on ramen that you have to try if you're in Hiroshima. Had the reccomend level of spice and it wasn't too hot just a rich tasty flavour. Should have ordered extra pork but as only got one piece. English menu and staff speak enough to get by.
MoreGreat food! Worth a try definitely!
Absolutely delicious noodles. Quick service and and they also do a take away option; you can customise how you want the noodles.
MoreYum! This place has really good noodles - you can choose hot or cold and the spice level that you want. I went with level 2 medium and it was perfect! It was pretty cheap too - 2500 yen for noodles and a plum wine with club soda each for two of us - what a deal!
MoreVery nice ramen - a single option that you customize plus potential sides like fried chicken. Small shop with a relaxing atmosphere. Recommended! English menu and the chefs speak a bit, so be polite and practice your Japanese!
MoreVery good ramen, the grilled pork was perfect. The staff was incredibly nice and there was a great atmosphere in the restaurant. My only regret is that I ate here on my last day in Hiroshima.
MoreExcellent food, lovely ambiance and very friendly hosts. We actually returned for a second time, which we never have done before on our trips. Highly recommend!
MoreVery tasty and original ramen with little broth compared to regular ramen!
Great bowl of ramen, got a large one with pork and it was enough to last me the whole day :)) Quick serving, english menu, small place, tasty food :)
MoreBest “Italian” style dry ramen I have ever tasted. So different from anything I ever tried in Japan. This is a must visit if you are ever in Hiroshima!
MoreThey kindly have menu in english how to enjoy the food here. Every staffs were so friendly and easy to ask something when ordering. They served super cool draft beer with frozen mug which was really nice part for me :) Their Chashu was very tasty and well-flavored that is very good matching with noodles. So, I'm really satisfied with my own noodle with green onions, cabbages and extra chashu, even that is not salty.
MoreTop quality large mazemen noodles - pork, poached egg and scallions cooked with a spice to your desire. Delicious.
MoreWow! Great food and service! One guy running the show, keeping the place clean and the food delicious. He even gave us an origami souvenir, as we were pretty obviously tourists. Amazing prices for such a great meal. 5/5.
MoreWonderful way to finish the day with an icy beer and great tasting Hiroshima Okkundou mazemen😋😋Staff are really friendly not to mention the customers there as well. The atmosphere was just wonderful👍👍
MoreWe had the warm Mazeman with pork and cheese and it was really delicious and fast. (Like a noodle dish) Super cold beer too! A great lunch break from the Peace Memorial. They have an English language menu as well. A bit hard to find on the map so here’s a photo of the outside.
MoreThe name of Majemen is delicious noodle. I recommend adding toping of Chashu and Negi. It has English menu.
MoreIt was really delicious and the staff was super nice! There is an English menu. This is basically a ramen with more thick, and less soup. You mix everything up real nice than proceed to eat. I reccomend you to order rice after you finish eating the noodles and clean up the awesome sauce. Highly recommended place! Very reasonable price as well.
MoreHiroshima is famous for Tsukemen which is dipping noodles with cold/warm soup but THIS is something different from what you normally expect in Hiroshima and tasted so goood!! I LOVED IT❤️The sauce is at the bottom so you mixed it everything up when you eat it. I like that noodle itself has already some taste before you mixed it up with the sauce.
MoreGreat Ramen and very affordable. English menu and friendly service as usual in Japan. Highly recommend it!
MoreBest Ramen ive ever had in my life! Amazing experience. Must come if you are in Hiroshima!
MoreMazemen is Hiroshima specialty ramen. This style can be only found in Hiroshima. Highly recommend if you want to have unique ramen experience. English menu available
MoreOne of the best meals of my Japan trip. Definitely try the dry ramen
Tasty, quick bowl of noodles. We got regular size, which was perfect. Pay the 200 yen for extra pork (even if you share it). Delicious.
MoreCan't go wrong. They make one main dish and they make it well. Great pork, great noodles and great people
MoreExtremly tasty noodles, friendly staff and a very nice overall environment. All that to a surprisingly cheap price. All thanks to the chefs, perfect presentation.
MoreVery delicious and reasonably priced. I had a large serving with 370g of noodles for 870 Yen. You pick the size, then the spiciness and any extras. Very quick serving, and as always extremely friendly. I think I was given 50yen less change than I should have, or I might be mistaken, but it was such a small sum and just an honest mistake I think. It’s Japan after all.
MoreLoved it. He was very friendly with excellent service. The food wasn’t so salty which was good and I was craving spice (had different levels). He also helped with recommending what to do around here. Highly recommend!!
MoreI agree with the many positive reviews already written here. The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere in the restaurant relaxed and enjoyable. The mazemen is very good, a nice alternative to ramen. Spicyness can be selected from grade 1 to 7. For Japanese 'cat tongues' grade 2 should be fine. I had grade 4, which should be fine for westerners. Koreans should easily be able to handle grade 7 I was told. There is always one exception, right? When you're taller than general Japan 'size', then the sitting position is a bit uncomfortable.
MoreHands down the best ramen 🍜 I have had after traveling throughout and living in Japan. The staff is the most friendly and accommodating folks I have ever encountered. They were more than happy to make a couple substitutions and off menu options (additional eggs). The restaurant is very clean and not cramped with the amount of room available. I absolutely cannot wait to come back just to visit.
MoreFantastic place a little bit hidden near the Memorial Museum. The food is super and the owners are very friendly. A must if you are at Hiroshima.
MoreVery nice noodle. So original, so you can’t find this anywhere else. Personally I’m addicted to the natto topping. If you’re natto lover, absolutely recommended. The side menus are good too. Deep fried dumplings and fried chickens are quite good too.
MoreI got the cold noodles spicy Mazemen. It was a hot day and that was incredibly refreshing. It's almost year later, and I'm still thinking about those noodles. Staff were super friendly, even the other customers were super friendly. Price was great, and it's walking distance from the Peace Memorial Museum. I would say this is worth going out of your way for.
